The accused confessed to 17 offences at Leicester Crown Court on the end of the week

An individual who spiked sweets with tranquilliser and provided them to minors at a summer program in Leicestershire has pleaded guilty to sexual offences against two children aged nine and ten years old.

Jon Ruben was arrested after eight minors and a grown-up experienced illness at the location in the summer month.

The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, admitted guilt to a total of 17 charges when he was present at Leicester Crown Court on Friday.

However, he denied a single sexual charge he was facing, which was involving a nine-year-old boy.

Ruben was remanded in custody ahead of a additional proceeding on November 28th.

'Treat game'

The prosecutor, prosecuting, outlined the criminal behavior to the legal proceedings.

She stated his victims were under-privileged children who were staying at a youth camp which he operated.

The defendant played a "candy game" with the children, Mrs Prior stated, in which he would access the boys' rooms when they were settling down and ask them to ingest treats "as quickly as they can".

She told the court the defendant had engaged in this activity with the young males "for many years", and minors had previously become sick the subsequent day.

She stated the man had been able to explain this for many years as the children being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepson had concerns in recently.

The prosecutor stated further: "This year his stepchild had suspicions about the situation, with valid cause.

"They decided to investigate in the defendant's belongings."

The legal counsel stated materials including lubricant, petroleum jelly and syringes were located, and his stepson notified the law enforcement about his concerns.

She said the man continued to play the "candy game" with six children that night - Saturday 26 July - and they were all sick the subsequent day.

"Authorities" had not gone out by that point," she added.

The regulatory agency, the investigative body, previously told that it was reviewing the police response of the events.

The legal representative explained the children were having difficulty walking due to their sickness, so the family member contacted the authorities once more.

She stated the man then engaged in the "candy game" in a room of five minors.
