I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really going ahead.
