Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Cars, walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Police then located numerous other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police say initial examinations indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.
City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for information.
An important representative said the vandalism rendered him without words and required to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on a platform, referring to the murder of nine victims by a gunman focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
